It was asusual trip to Ishal foundation. Anyone coming to Bangalore to visit their relative asks about it and as a host one must take the guests to this diviine place amidst valley of mountains. Some 50Kms from Bangalore towards north is a place called Chikaballapur, often visited by tourists for its natural beauty and serene landscapes and most vivid attraction of Nandi hills. But slowly a short trip to AdiYogi is becoming a must to do attraction of Chikaballapur.

From Bangalore one can view mountain ranges in the north direction, stretching on either side of it ( East towards Kadapa, West towards Tumukur)

SideNote – Prominent mountains that you can see from Bangalore are Shivgange in West (Tumkur) and Nandi Hills in North (Chikaballapur). Talking about north there are other smaller attractions like Kundana fort, and likes.

Chikaballapur

Chikaballapur is famous for grape orchids and wineries, bee farming, flowers gardens and may dayouting resorts. During summer it is little hot but in monsoons it is like heaven. West of chikaballapur is Nandi hills and to its north are another famous Hari Hara Betta, often seens as twin mountains towards Bangalore north, and is gated by big arch as in the pic below.

Swirling through the ghat section suddenly Adi yogi appears to your right as in the picutre below. Its pictureseque but in heavy traffic, better to avoid halting at this place as the spot is in the corner.

At Isha Foundation

Best time to visit Isha foundation Bangalore is after 3:00PM. Though there is enough parking but is more of open ground and in rains it becomes little murkier. Traffic management is good, and the place usually gets heavily crowded during weekends.

Enterance has a small temple compund in the form of a chariot that holds the mightlt Trishula. Wheel of chariot are made of stone and can be rotated as shown below.


Following this is the Naga temple. Premises is quite big and is covered. Most of the daily rituals and programmes are done here. One can offer flowers or coconut and take pradarshana around the main diety. From here you can see the might Adi Yogi glancing the mountains at a little far distance. There is a open ground between Naga temple and the Adi Yogi statue. Ground is semi tiled with natural stones. On left side of the this ground is the upcoming Ling Bharavi temple and on the right side is the confectonery stores and a restraunt.

On the other side of the ground is the main statue just behind the lingeshwara temple. Facing the status is mighty Nandi as shown in pic below.

The lingeshwara temple closes for a short duration between 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM during which the famous laser show is played. During this time all lights are shut off and only AdiYogi can be seen illiminated with themed colours.
